Unique New Year’s Ideas for Toronto & Wingreen Court

In yesterday’s post, we covered some traditional New Year’s Eve party options. In today’s blog Greenrock Property Management will focus on some unique ideas to ring in 2013. To all our tenants across Toronto – Happy New Year’s from Greenrock Property Management! Best Wishes in 2013!

New Year’s at the Castle

Casa Loma isn’t your typical castle so you can expect a far from typical New Year’s Eve celebration. Party at the Castle lets revelers celebrate in the castle’s two grand ballrooms, and explore the mansion’s secret passages, library and tunnels. The DJ will be spinning hip-hop, house music and more. This semiformal event is something very different from the overcrowded club scene.

The Dude’s New Year’s: The Big Lebowski at Bloor Cinema

Fans of the cult-classic movie, The Big Lebowski will love this New Year’s celebration inspired by The Dude himself. Hosted by Bloor Cinema, this celebration of all things Lebowski is a hilarious way to toast 2013.  The night is advertised as a way to “Celebrate New Year’s Eve with White Russians, indoor bowling and a bunch of nihilists.” Tickets are $20 and include two complimentary drinks, a New Year’s toast and the ball drop on the big screen.

Ping Pong Party

Looking for a low-key way to celebrate New Year’s but still want a night out? Do you love ping pong? SPiN Toronto’s New Year’s Eve party has no cover and no dress code. Make advanced ping pong table reservations or simply walk in. The best part? The free champagne toast at midnight while you beat your friends on the tabletop.

Travel free with the TTC

After 10 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, all Toronto revelers travel for free on the red rocket until 4 a.m. on January 1st. This service is provided as a way to ensure that all travelers have a worry-free travel option around the city. All subways and most surface routes (buses and streetcars) will run until 4 a.m. on Jan. 1, at which time the TTC’s Blue Night Network begins. Don’t forget that on New Year’s Day, the 2013 fare increase also takes effect.

Countdown at Home

If you’d rather not take on the crowds of Toronto on New Year’s, why not host a unique celebration of your own? Host a more low-key evening from your Greenrock apartment. Staying at home doesn’t mean your party has to be boring. Try out a themed costume party, a PJ-only celebration or movie marathon. If you’re with a group of beer snobs, consider a flight of micro-brewed beers and a selection of fancy cheeses to match.

The Wingreen Court community is in a great location in North York, just a three-minute walk to the bus stop, and a five-minute walk to the Shops at Don Mills. This building offers convenience and affordability in an up-and-coming neighbourhood. Residents are moments away from the spectacular Edwards Gardens and Sunnybrook Park with easy access to the Don Valley Parkway.
