Greenrock is currently recruiting for a Law Clerk to join our corporate services team.
Your New Role
Working for a family business, with approximately 200 business and philanthropic entities, you will be the primary legal contact for the organization.
Consulting with legal counsel, when necessary, you are comfortable drafting and reviewing management, leasing, and other agreements.
You will review and update corporate minute books and charitable trust documents. This includes, but is not limited to, drafting and arranging execution of annual resolutions, appointing directors and officers, dissolution of entities and reporting changes to the Ministry.
When needed, you will assist in the retrieval of lost shares, the sale of shares, personal share interests etc.
You are the key legal support for the sale of properties.
When requested, you will manage all estate documents for individual family members including powers of attorney and wills.
Who You Are
A Law Clerk Diploma along with the Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario Certificate (ideally in real estate and corporate)
Experience in corporate transaction work
Experience working in a large law firm and you are now looking for a change to be part of a family business when you can be the key legal contact of the organization.
A great attention to detail and ability to manage a great deal of data.
A comfort in utilizing databases as you will responsible for maintaining important information and updating organizational charts.
Strong organizational, investigative and fact finding and problem solving skills
Ability to work effectively to address the needs of the organization and its Family Board Members
